Paul Pogba has revealed the wise words Gianluigi Buffon told him in regards to his ever-changing haircuts.

The Manchester United midfielder has regularly come under criticism from pundits for chopping and changing flamboyant hairstyles, as well as his fun social media antics.

Graham Souness, old school as they come, has been among the most viral - while Manchester United legend Gary Neville had a lot to say about Pogba's decision to dye his hair blue ahead of the Manchester derby - where he scored a brilliant brace in the 3-2 win.

As per Pogba, his old Bianconeri colleague Buffon has a completely different take to the Frenchman being the free spirit he is.

Speaking on the Canal Football Club show, he said the legendary Italian simply told him to do what he wants in regards to his hair and dress sense: just make sure you does the business on the pitch.

"As Buffon said to me: 'You are young, you have the future ahead of you. You have your haircuts, you dress as you like: it is on the pitch that matters'."

Spot on from Gianluigi, who has been a huge supporter of his former colleague.Though Pogba has warranted criticism for not pulling his weight in a Manchester United shirt at times, the obsession with his hair needs to stop.

Prior to the FA Cup semi-final clash with Tottenham at Wembley, on Saturday his midfield partner Nemanja Matic was asked whether he would follow suit with Pogba's style. The Serbian conjured up a hilarious response.

"No, I have kids - if I do that my son is going to do the same; I have to have serious hair like Gary Neville," Matic told Guardian.

"No, I'm just simple."

United inflicted an eighth consecutive FA Cup semi-final defeat on Spurs, with goals from Alexis Sanchez and Ander Herrera completing the turnaround after Dele Alli had opened the scoring early on.
