Paul Pogba and Zinedine Zidane were spotted having a chat by a pool in Dubai in what is said to have been a "coincidence meeting".

The Mirror and Daily Star have both published the same picture of the two at the Transform Altitude Performance Center, where Pogba is recovering from injury.

Zidane, currently in his second spell as Real Madrid manager, was attending an artificial intelligence conference.

Pogba, who is sidelined for the visit of Liverpool because of an ankle injury, has been heavily courted by his fellow Frenchman in the past.

In the summer, the World Cup winner wanted to leave United in the summer transfer window and revealed his desire "to have a new challenge somewhere else".

United slapped a £160 million price tag on their most expensive signing and it was enough to put off Real, who had already spent big on Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Eder Militao, Ferland Mendy and Rodrygo.

Former Juventus star Pogba has a further two years remaining on his contract at Old Trafford, with United also able to trigger a one-year extension.

But his dream of playing for Los Blancos and becoming Galactico just won't go away, with Pogba going on record to reveal he wants to play for Zidane at the Bernabeu.

"Like I've always said, Real Madrid is a dream for anyone," Pogba said at a France press conference back in March.

"It's one of the biggest clubs in the world. There is also [Zinedine] Zidane as a coach and it's a dream for anybody who likes football. For now, I'm at Manchester. We don't know what the future holds. I'm at Manchester and I'm happy."
