Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain responded brilliantly when asked to explain how teammate Mo Salah isn't selfish, stressing that he's more than happy for the Egyptian to go alone as long as he keeps producing the goods.

In the 3-0 win over Burnley last month, Sadio Mane was left frustrated after Salah selfishly tried to dribble past multiple defenders instead of pass to him in the latter stages of the second half.

Mane ended up losing his cool as he was subbed off in the second half but any talk of a rift between the African pair was quickly dispelled.

And when Chamberlain had to finish the sentence "Mo Salah isn't selfish because" during an interview with Football Focus on BBC, the England international gave both a hilarious and perfect answer.

"Isn't selfish? Are you winding me up? The guy doesn't pass to us. Are you mad? Ask Sadio!" Chamberlain joked.

"No, Mo Salah isn't selfish because he's a goalscorer," he added. "He's got to do that. We can't expect him to pass us the ball all the time and him to score loads of goals.

"The way he plays wins us games, so he's got to do what he's got to do. He scores, we win the game. I'm happy. Mo, do what you want!"

Since coming back to the Premier League in 2017, Salah has netted 58 goals in the top flight and won back-to-back Golden Boots so he's probably earnt the right to be selfish.

The 27-year old will look to add to his tally of four goals this season with a return to former club Chelsea in the pick of the weekend's fixtures on Sunday.
