You can't beat an underdog story and French side Les Herbiers are one of the greatest in recent memories.

Tonight, the third division outfit, who could well be playing in the fourth tier by the time the next season rolls around, play at the Stade De France in the French cup final against the mighty PSG.

It's a proper 'David vs Goliath' cup final. Les Herbiers play in the 5,000 capacity Stade Massabielle and only average 1,500 per home game.

The small town in western France has a population of just over 15,000 and it seems as though their whole mob are turning out for the big showpiece tonight according to the BBC.

To further underline the enormous difference in stature, the French minnows have a £1.77million playing budget. That would pay for just over two weeks worth of wages for the world's most expensive footballer, injured PSG star, Neymar.

Currently in 13th place in the Championnat National, two points ahead of Entente SSG in the final relegation spot with one game remaining, they have won nine league games all season.

But at the same time, they've enjoyed a fairytale run in the Coupe De France - having to go through seven rounds but not coming up against a single Ligue One side until now.

The French cup has a knack for throwing up surprise packages, with Nimes (1996), Amiens (2001) and Quevilly (2012) all three third division sides to have got to the final the cup but ultimately fell at the final hurdle.

Les Herbiers are out to make history but their manager Stephane Masala is incredibly pessimistic and is merely telling his players to enjoy the occasion.

PSG is a team that makes us dream," he said in a press conference previewing the match.

"I'm a young coach, I'm here to learn, as are my players and in this sense I hope that PSG will teach us a lesson.

"My message to the players will be to have the courage to look PSG players in the eye and then have fun."

If Les Herbiers do the unthinkable and beat Edinson Cavani, Kylian Mbappe and co, it will be their third trophy in their history and will see them qualify for the Europa League next season.

They could well be playing in the same league as PSG's reserve side next season but tonight it's all about coming up against the Ligue One leaders in the national stadium - a special moment for all those involved with the club.

Here's hoping for one of sport's biggest upsets!
