The Red Devils really struggle without him

Manchester United may have had their best ever start to a Premier League season, this year, with Jose Mourinho's men recording seven wins from their opening 10 matches, but according to the stats, one player is making a much bigger difference to the Red Devils' win ratio than anyone else.

United have only dropped points in three games so far, drawing away at Stoke City and Liverpool before losing to Huddersfield Town.

And in the matches at Anfield and the John Smith's Stadium, Eric Bailly was unavailable through injury.

OK, obviously United didn't fail to pick up maximum points from both those games solely because of Bailly's absence, but it is noticeable how much of an impact the Ivorian defender has had on United since arriving at Old Trafford in the summer of 2016.

A £30 million recruit from Villarreal, Bailly was an integral part in United's League Cup and Europa League successes, last season and the 23-year-old has enjoyed an exceptional start to the current campaign, with United conceding only two league goals in the seven Premier League matches Bailly has starred in, winning six and drawing one.

In fact, in all the league games Bailly has started for United since he arrived in Manchester, Jose Mourinho's team have a win ratio of 61.3%.

Without Bailly in the starting XI, Mourinho's men only successfully take all three points 35.3% of the time, highlighting the Ivory Coast international's importance at centre-half, where he has struck up an effective partnership with a rejuvenated Phil Jones.

United fans will be hoping the £30 million man can stay fit for the rest of the season as they look to close the gap on league leaders Manchester City in the Premier League title race.
