An off-duty English police officer has reportedly been stabbed in Paris.

According to Le Parisien, a 25-year-old has been seriously injured after being attacked outside a bar in the tenth arrondissement of Paris following the conclusion of last night's quarter-final tie between France and Iceland.

The attack occurred before midnight opposite the Gare du Nord, where he was watching the game sporting both France and Iceland colours. The English police officer, on vacation with his wife in France, was then rushed to emergency.

While an off-duty French police officer carried out the arrest on the alleged attacker after hearing shouts of "He killed somebody, he killed someone."

The identity of the victim remains unknown, though is in a serious condition in hospital but doctors believe it isn't life-threatening. Phew.
