Just a few yards out, Werner got his connection all wrong with his left foot and put the ball wide in one of the worst misses we've seen in a long time.
TIMO WERNER, HOW DID YOU MISS?! :scream: pic.twitter.com/ACDf2yw26z- ESPN FC (@ESPNFC) March 31, 2021
He had his head in his hands and so too did teammate Gundogan, who was on the turf in total disbelief.
But the best reaction of all goes to North Macedonia defender Visar Musliu, who was shook that the former RB Leipzig man didn't score.
The Fehérvár man has gone viral as a result.
Even Visar Musliu of North Macedonia :flag_mk: is holding his hands on his head for that miss :joy::joy: https://t.co/WfvGexplhq- H.M (@hussein_Khalif) March 31, 2021

Werner's shocker came in the 80th minute and would have put Germany 2-1 up in Duisburg.
And the miss came back to bite both he and Germany as Eljif Elmas scored late on to give 65th-ranked North Macedonia a memorable victory over the four-time world champions.
Manager Joachim Low, who will be stepping down after the Euros in the summer, had never lost a World Cup qualifier with Germany until last night.
He rued that missed chance from Werner, who has been guilty of failing to convert key opportunities for Chelsea this season.
"He must put that ball away, no question at all," Joachim Low told RTL post-match regarding Werner's miss.
"He has shown here he can score goals.
"But he doesn't hit the ball right with his left foot, if he makes a clean contact with the ball it's a goal."
