N'Golo Kante Explains Why He Chose To Leave Leicester For Chelsea

Will it turn out to be the right decision?

N'Golo Kante is the Robbie Williams of Leicester City! He'll always be remembered as the bastard who broke up the band and left us all heartbroken, erm I mean I obviously have no emotional feelings towards the end of the original Take That line up....Anyway Kante has explained why he decided to leave the Foxes.

Kante was part of the band of Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez who took Leicester to greatness last season with the most incredible Premier League title win of all season. They were the headline takers and difference makers in a squad that hugely over achieved.

The group were always likely to be split but with Vardy rejecting Arsenal and Mahrez still at the King Power Stadium too up to now it's only the French midfielder who has left. He joined Chelsea earlier in the summer despite them not qualifying for Europe for the first time and he's explained why he made the decision:

"It was a little bit difficult because what we did last year with Leicester was a very, very big achievement...

"I chose Chelsea because I spoke with the manager here and when I did that, I realised the capacity of the manager and that is why I made my decision. Now I have discovered him, and discovered how he is training, how he is, and what I can say is he is passionate and a hard worker. He likes to communicate, to make me understand his idea of football here."

We don't think it's a dig at Claudio Ranieri because he certainly got the best out of Kante and his teammates last season but unfortunately the Premier League champions were definitely missing their workhorse at the weekend when they became the first champions to lose on the opening day of the Premier League season.

The French midfielder also talked about his ambitions at Stamford Bridge adding, "My ambition is to achieve good things with the club, to get success in the Premier League and, I hope, return to the Champions League. To the supporters, the only thing I would like to say now is that I will always give my best for the club, for the team."

Sure he might go on and produce 'Angels' like performances at Chelsea but will it ever be as good as "Back For Good"?
