Is the feud over?!

Neymar and Cavani stories have dominated headlines (and our homepage) for the past few days but it now appears as though the two have patched things up.

The two argued over who should take a penalty in their toughest test of the season so far against Lyon on Sunday, the second time it has happened since Neymar's £198 million move to Paris. Neymar attempted to take the penalty off his colleague and was again snubbed, as Cavani, PSG's regular penalty taker, promptly told him where to go before seeing his effort saved in brilliant fashion by Anthony Lopes.

There were reports that alarmingly, the pair had been at each other's throats in the dressing room after the game and their fruitful on-the-pitch partnership looked to be under some serious threat.

However, the situation appears to have improved, with reports from French outlets L'Equipe and RMC saying that in training today, Neymar apologised to Cavani and the rest of his teammates for the way he conducted himself in regards to set-pieces on Sunday.

The story is that with the Brazilian superstar not yet fluent in French, his captain and compatriot Thiago Silva translated for him to get his apology across.

The story follows on from reports that Dani Alves, who was also subject to criticism in the win over Lyon for appearing to take the ball off Cavani and give it Neymar when PSG had a free-kick, took his two teammates out for dinner in an attempt to try and clear the air.

Cavani's former international teammate Diego Forlan has recently had his say on the situation, calling Alves a 'bitch' for the role he played in Sunday's shenanigans.

Speaking to Uruguyana radio station Radio Sport 890, translated by Marca, the former Atletico Madrid and Villareal man said, "[Cavani] deserves respect. He has been scoring goals for years and taking penalties, there has to be respect.

"Neymar would not have done that to Messi. He did not want Cavani to take the penalty. He was like a little boy annoying him.

"It's a problem between Neymar and Cavani, those things happen on all teams. What does not make sense is what Alves does, he doesn't give the ball to Cavani but gives it to Neymar as if he were his bitch."

Alves, not one to stay quiet, responded in kind to Forlan, informing the former Manchester United and Atletico Madrid striker to 'close the ortho (ass )'.

Neymar and Cavani, along with the third member of their attacking stable, 18-year old sensation Kylian Mbappe, have scored 16 goals between them this season.
