Brilliant stuff from the PSG star.

Some people feel that Brazilian superstar Neymar is in the same league as the two titans of world football, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, while he's been tipped by many to be the man to break their Ballon d'OR dominance.

However, the man himself does not hold that opinion and gave a modest response when asked about the phenomenal duo ahead of his first game at the 2018 World Cup.

"The two who are above all others right now are Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi," he told Brazilian YouTube channel Desimpedidos.

"For all modesty, today I am the best player in the world - because they are from another planet."

He couldn't have put it better, could he? Neymar's an unbelievable footballer but he's on the next level down from Messi and Ronaldo.

You hear a lot about Neymar and his supposed selfishness but the PSG star says he'd much prefer helping Brazil win a sixth World Cup as opposed to being the best in the world.

"I don't want to be the best player in the world, I want to win the World Cup," he added.

"Winning the trophy would make myself, my family and my country so happy."

Brazil were exceptional in qualifying under Tite and will now look to go one step further from erasing that 7-1 drubbing inflicted by Germany, with Neymar in particular having a point to prove after his unfortunate injury against Colombia in the quarter final four years back.

The Santos product has followed in the footsteps of his idol, Ronaldo Nazario, in getting a very naff trim for the World Cup, by getting a 90's Justin Timberlake style haircut.

R9 notched eight as Brazil won the World Cup for the fifth time, what's to say Neymar can't do the same?
