Neymar claims he didn't celebrate in front of Joshua Kimmich last night, though his explanation would suggest he definitely did.

Paris Saint-Germain bested Bayern Munich in the quarter final, with the French champions going through on away goals after a 3-3 aggregate scoreline in a rematch of last season's final in Lisbon.

There were understandably euphoric scenes at the final whistle for PSG after they knocked out the holders and progressed to the semi-finals.

Neymar celebrated in animated fashion with teammate Leandro Paredes but right in front of Bayern's Kimmich.

The Brazil star says he wasn't trying to mock the German international, but did note how confident Kimmich had been going into the second leg.

It's funny because I didn't even celebrate to mess with him, it was more with Leo and I ended up celebrating with him. It was fate that put me close to [Kimmich]," Neymar told TNT Sports Brasil.

"He said that their team was better, that they would win. He was sure that they would go to the semifinals.

"You can have possession as much as you like. You can sing for a woman all night long, but if a guy comes and takes her from you in 5 minutes, she's gone"

Neymar was referring to Kimmich's comments pre-match, where he had told the official Bayern website, "Because we are the better team, I am convinced that we will get through".

Kimmich hasn't said anything about the celebration, though he can't exactly have too many complaints with Neymar's conduct given his antics in the face of Sadio Mane a couple of years back at Anfield.

PSG will play either Borussia Dortmund or Manchester City in the semi-finals. The two sides meet in the second leg at Signal Iduna Park tonight, with City leading 2-1 from the first leg.
