Mbappe, 21, revealed that he came up against his toughest opponent when he was starting out his career at Monaco.
Speaking to Eurosport during a quick-fire Q&A session, the World Cup-winning Frenchman only had one name on his mind when it came to the toughest opponent he had faced.
"Gianluigi Buffon," Mbappe said.
Mbappe came up against the Italian legend during Monaco and Juventus' Champions League semi-final showdown in 2017.

"The best player I've faced? Sergio Ramos," Neymar told Oh My Goal.
"Because he's an excellent central defender and what's more, he scores goals. It's very difficult to play against him."

"For me, he's the best player in the world," the Brazil international said.
"The best that I've seen play. We made a magnificent duo, it was a pleasure for me and an honour to play with him. And on top of that, he's my friend."
