Newcastle Upload Footage From Training Match, Fans Immediately React

Newcastle United fans have expressed concern about the club's shocking defending after footage of a training match emerged online.

Newcastle, who occupy 13th place in the Premier League table, resume their season at home to Sheffield United on June 21.

The North East outfit are in full flow ahead of restarting their campaign following the suspension of the league due to the global pandemic, but supporters are worried about their form.

The first team took part in a behind-closed-doors training match at St James' Park on Saturday.

And the 'home' side's defending stunned fans on social media as Joelinton scored a goal thanks to some questionable defending.

Needless to say, Newcastle's defending sent social media wild.

"Shelvey not tracking back, defenders backing off the striker. How I've missed watching Newcastle United Football Club," one social media user wrote.

A second tweeted: "Christ.. I hope they up the intensity over the next couple weeks!"

A third added: "That defending and work rate looks.... interesting."

Another wrote: "That defending concerns me."

Newcastle are currently sat eight points clear of the relegation zone ahead of the league restart.
