Newcastle United say they "deeply regret" the release of the club's 2020 calendar after it included a series of blunders.

For starters, the desk calendar features three players who no longer play for the club. Salomon Rondon was only on loan last season, Kenedy headed back to Chelsea at the end of last term and Ayoze Perez scored for Leicester against the Magpies at St James' Park this season after moving in a £30 million move.

There's also the small matter of an outdated kit that is no longer in use, as well as a picture of a Manchester United fan swearing at the Newcastle players at Old Trafford.

As per Luke Edwards from The Telegraph the product was manufactured by a company Danilo, who needed images prior to the current campaign before the calendars were printed in South Korea and returned back to the UK.

Those high up within the club believe the calendar did not go through "proper quality control" despite club employees having the ability to check over and make any amendments.

There's been no apology offered by Newcastle to fans who bought the calendar or received it as a Christmas gift, but it's said an internal investigation has been opened to avoid a repeat scenario in the future.
