Nemanja Vidić has been voted the best Premier League defender of all time.
SPORTbible posted a poll on Twitter and asked for football fans to vote from one of four choices: Vidić, Rio Ferdinand, John Terry and Virgil van Dijk.
Vidić led the way after securing more than 35 per cent of the vote, while Terry claimed second place, van Dijk came in at third and Ferdinand finished fourth.
Of course, it's worth noting that the poll included the Liverpool defender for the hyper factor surrounding him.
Sure, there's no doubting his influence for the Reds this season, both in the Premier League and in the Champions League, but the 27-year-old Dutch centre-back took home the award for PFA Players' Player of the Year.
Former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson signed Vidić from Spartak Moscow for a fee of around £7m in December 2005.
Once he arrived at Old Trafford in January 2006, the 37-year-old retired Serbian centre-back would find considerable success at the club.
The former Red Star Belgrade and Inter Milan player would win the Premier League title on five occasions, not to mention lifting the EFL Cup three times and one Champions League.
Vidić made over 200 appearances for United and scored 15 times for the club during his eight years at Old Trafford.
The former Serbia international established an incredible partnership with Ferdinand at the heart of the United defence -- no doubt Red Devils supporters are yearning for those days again -- which was also voted the best pairing in a SPORTbible poll earlier this year.
When it comes to other readers' polls, AC Milan icon Paolo Maldini was voted the best defender of all time and Brazil legend Cafu was named the best right-back of all time.
