Neal Maupay Scores Glorious Panenka Penalty, Does 'Crybaby' Celebration

Neal Maupay Scores Glorious Panenka Penalty, Does 'Crybaby' Celebration

Neal Maupay fancied being the ultimate troll against Manchester United this afternoon.

After Bruno Fernandes fouled Tariq Lamptey in the box, the Frenchman scored the most audacious Panenka penalty to open the scoring at the AMEX Stadium.

David De Gea was made to look an absolute fool by the former Brentford striker.

If that wasn't cheeky enough, he followed it up by celebrating with the 'crybaby' celebration made famous by Kylian Mbappe and now poised to cause controllers to broken in FIFA 21.

Brighton's lead didn't last for too long though as three minutes later United pulled level when Lewis Dunk put through his own net under pressure from Harry Maguire.

Maupay hit headlines last season when his challenge on Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno resulted in being stretchered off and sidelined.

He went on to score the winner against the Gunners, with Matteo Guendouzi angrily grabbing him by the throat at the final whistle.

Speaking after the game, Maupay didn't hold back in an interview with BT Sport.

He said: "Some of [Arsenal] players need to learn what is humility - especially one of them. He was talking all game, he was saying bad things. I don't want to say because I could be in trouble. I said this is what happens when you talk too much."
