It's not been a bad last week for Liverpool; Champions League qualification has been secured, they've been drawn in a favourable group in the competition, Arsenal were thrashed at Anfield on Sunday and a club record deal for RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita was agreed, yesterday.

The Guinea international has been a long term target of Jurgen Klopp's and will spend another season in the Bundesliga after a £48 million deal was secured, before arriving at Anfield in 2018.

The 22-year-old central midfielder was instrumental in Leipzig's charge up the Bundesliga, last season, following their promotion to the German top flight, the season before.

The Bundesliga newcomers finished in second place, behind Bayern Munich, with Keita at the heart of their incredible campaign, scoring eight goals in 31 matches.

And it's probably for the best that Keita has another season to mature in Germany, as when he arrives at Anfield in 12 months time, he'll have some significant boots to fill.

Keita will inherit the number eight shirt of Steven Gerrard upo his arrival in Merseyside, a number that has been vacant for the last two seasons since the legendary Liverpool captain's departure from Anfield, in 2015.

Of course, no one is expecting Keita to replicate the heroics of one of the club's greatest ever players, even with a club record price tag around his neck, but becoming the first man to take the number eight shirt since Gerrard is still a major honour to be bestowed upon a player.

Liverpool fans, what do you make of your club's new record signing? Already can't wait for next season or would you prefer him to be arriving this summer, instead?
