Reports have emerged that an agreement is close for the Amsterdam ArenA, home of Ajax, to be named after the late Johan Cruyff.
Cruyff, one of football's true pioneers, sadly passed away in March this year.
The Dutchman is widely viewed as one of the greatest footballers to ever lace up a pair of boots and went on to have a groundbreaking coaching career that masterminded the success of Ajax and Barcelona.
When he sadly lost his battle with lung cancer, tributes poured in for Cruyff, who won three European cups as a player with Ajax and then want on to assemble the 'dream team' at Barcelona that claimed four La Liga titles on the trot as well as the memorable 1992 European cup success.

And Dutch outlet Algemeen Dagblad reports that are closing negotiations with Cruyff's family about having the stadium of the club that that he has such a great association with, renamed in his memory.
The report does say that there may be one obstacle in the agreement, in relation to sponsorship.
Should the stadium be associated with a sponsor in the future, the Cruyff name would be linked and problems could potentially arise.

At present, the local council have a 48% share in the stadium, with Ajax owning 13% and various others parties contributing to the remaining 39%.
Barcelona also have proposals to honour Cruyff in the future. There has been talk of possibly naming a new mini-stadium after him, a potential statue or a memorial wall at the Camp Nou.
