Roma winger Mohamed Salah has been a long-term target for Liverpool and he appears to be a priority signing for Jurgen Klopp as he looks to add to his squad for next season, with Liverpool playing Champions League football again.
A couple of days back, a deal for Salah looked done and dusted.
A bid of £28 million was recently turned down by Roma, though The Guardian reported that the Reds had increased their offer to £35 million and that would likely be enough to land Salah, with the deal set be closed imminently.

Things had cooled down on the Salah front, however, a certain picture on social media has got Liverpool fans feeling optimistic of a deal coming to fruition.
That's because while on international duty with Egypt, Salah was more than happy to pose for a picture with two fans who were holding up a Liverpool shirt.

Surely it doesn't get more official than that?

Here's how Liverpool fans reacted on Twitter:
The Reds were desperate to sign Sala back in 2014, though Jose Mourinho and Chelsea won the race for his signature.

Speaking back in 2014 about the situation with Liverpool and Chelsea, Salah said:
"They had opened talks in October 2013. Negotiations took a long time, because Basel rejected more than one offer. They felt the transfer fee was not that high. I was waiting for Liverpool because I really like Liverpool. I was eager to join them," he told told MBC Masr via Four Four Two.
He then went on to explain why he elected to move to Chelsea, with then Blues boss Jose Mourinho the primary factor.
"But then I received a phone call from Mourinho and that changed everything. He explained the situation to me and told me that he needed me at Chelsea. That was one of the main reasons why I joined Chelsea."

There are, however, reports that Liverpool have identified a few alternatives to Salah should they be unsuccessful in their attempts to sign him:
