Khabib Nurmagomedov hilariously refused to take a picture with a Barcelona fan until he said 'Hala Madrid'.

Nurmagomedov forced a Barcelona supporter to say 'Hala Madrid' in order to get a photo with the UFC lightweight champion.

Despite Nurmagomedov being a Real Madrid fan, he has an impressive knowledge of Liverpool's storied history while calling the Premier League the best league in world football.

"I think I am not only a fan; I think I know [football] history. English Premier League, for me, is the best league in the world. I follow everything," he said.

The 28-0 fighter then went on to recall watching Liverpool's famous 2005 Champions League final victory over AC Milan.

"I remember when I was a kid in 2005 when I watched Liverpool versus Milan, in Dagestan. We had a big screen TV on the beach, thousands of people [were] watching this match," he added.

"And when they were losing after the first half 3-0, and I really believed, 'They have to come back, they have to come back' because I liked the team.

"It was Milan Baros, [Vladimir] Smicer, [John Arne] Riise, [Sami] Hyypia. I remember this. Stevie Gerrard!

"It was a very good team, but right now they have a very good team too. I watch all the Champions League matches and Liverpool. But I'm a big fan of Real Madrid.

"But I like English Premier League, even if the worst teams are playing, they have the best games."

Nurmagomedov's beloved Real Madrid beat Liverpool in the 2018 Champions League, but the Reds bagged the 'Big Ears' trophy last season.

Nurmagomedov, meanwhile, is reportedly set to return to action on September 19 when he defends his UFC lightweight title against Justin Gaethje at UFC 253.
