One of the worst injuries in recent MMA history occurred over the weekend at Combate Americas 53: Copa Combate 2019.

Milko Tucto and Salvador Becerra locked horns in the quarter finals of the tournament in Lima, Peru but the lightweight contest ended abruptly in the first round.

Tucto picked up his opponent and sought about slamming him right on the canvas. He was successful in doing so but as Becerra tried to soften his fall by extending his arm out, the weight of Tucto caused it to completely snap with a sickening impact.

You can hear the scream from Becerra after the gruesome injury, with the referee stepping in rapidly and stopping the fight so he could be seen too by the ringside doctors.

Tucto, who prayed on the mat after the stoppage, collected the victory via TKO with just 90 seconds remaining of the first round and advanced to the semi-finals, where he was beaten by Erick Gonzalez.

Humberto Bandenay, who spent some time in the UFC featherweight division, won the eight-man tournament and earned a title shot against Combate Americans lightweight champion Rafa Garcia in the future, along with receiving a $100,000 cash prize.

As of yet there's been no update on Becerra's condition but we wish him a speedy recovery from what was a truly horrendous arm break.
