A viral clip of Kylian Mbappe during Paris Saint-Germain's thrashing of Dijon shows his elite mentality.

PSG beat Dijon 4-0 on Saturday to close the gap on league leaders Lille to just two points.

Mbappe starred as he scored a brace to help his team to victory and he showed another side of his game against Dijon.

In the tunnel before the second half, Mbappe can be seen talking to teammate Marquinhos as the players limber up.

The microphones picked up their conversation, revealing the 22-year-old told the PSG captain that they need to send a message to their title rivals.

He said: "Marqui, tell everyone that we need to keep applying ourselves! If we can score 5 or 6... it will be a message to the others (title contenders).

"Let's score 6 or 7!"

PSG headed into the break 2-0 up thanks to first half goals from Moise Kean and Mbappe himself.

The French forward then bagged another six minutes into the second half after slotting home a tidy finish with his left foot.

Danilo Pereira made it 4-0 in the 82nd minute to secure an easy away win.

The French giants didn't quite achieve Mbappe's lofty score-line, but their victory keeps them in touching distance of the league leaders.

The defending French champions are two points behind Lille who have 59 points on the board.

Mbappe's brace moves him four goals clear at the top of the Ligue 1 scoring charts. He has 18 league goals to his name this season as he enjoys another prolific term.

Mauricio Pochettino's PSG resume their league campaign on Wednesday when they travel to Bordeaux.
