Incredible footage of Kuwait SC members throwing up the referee inside a private box after a winning cup final has emerged online.

Kuwait won the Crown Prince Cup final for the ninth time by beating Al Qadsia 2-1 in extra time at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium on Tuesday.

But there's controversy surrounding the victory after the scenes that were posted alone post-match.

A video doing the rounds sees members of the club in a box, celebrating the triumph by hoisting the match official in the air and giving out hugs.

Someone from outside the box was filming before an individual comes over and pulls the blinds down so no more footage can be captured.

Minister of Information and State Minister for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, represented the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah at the game, while the president of Kuwait Football Association Sheikh Ahmad Al-Yousuf Al-Sabah was also present for the 28th edition of the cup.

This is the second instance in less than a week that we've brought you a story on a referee being thrown in the air.

After a refereeing decision went his way late in the game, in pure excitement, Beziers Josaia Raisuqe danced around and lifted rugby official Laurent Millotte high in the air.

The man in the middle didn't look like he enjoyed it one bit and promptly showed Raisuqe a red card in the French Rugby Pro D2 clash.
