The French teenage sensation has put his name into the Ballon d'Or hat following his heroics at the World Cup. From scoring to creating goals in Russia.
Mbappe lit up the tournament with stunning performances throughout.
Obviously, when talking about Ballon d'Or candidates, you have to mention serial winners Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
The pair have hogged the individual prize since 2008.
Ronaldo and Messi have collected an incredible five Ballon d'Or's each.But following the 2018 World Cup, the Ballon d'Or picture has been given a shake-up. Ronaldo and Messi were unable to deliver on the international stage.
New names entered the mix including Mbappe, not to mention Luka Modric who starred for Croatia as he captained his side to a World Cup final.
And the Paris Saint-Germain phenom reckons the
32-year-old Real Madrid star is in the running to be crowned Ballon d'Or champion.As well as Modric, Mbappe has also named Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphaël Varane and himself.
Anyway, Ronaldo is the current favourite at 1/4 to be Ballon d'Or winner. Messi is priced at 12/1.
Harry Kane, Kevin De Bruyne, Mohamed Salah, Neymar, Eden Hazard and Luis Suarez round off the top ten.
