Matthijs de Ligt is in line to collect a whopping £416,000-a-week at Juventus if certain add-ons are achieved in his stint with the Bianconeri.

After he had his medical yesterday, today Juventus confirmed the signing of the Dutchman on a five-year contract for £67.5 million - a figure that looks to be very good value for a 19-year old who looks set to be the best defender in world football for years to come.

As per The Guardian, a £135.6 million release clause is to be inserted in De Ligt's Juventus deal but it won't be active for another three years.

And his contract is the latest bit of master negotiating from superagent Mino Raiola, who has managed to see his client earn a basic salary of £14.5 million per season in Turin after interest from PSG and Barcelona dropped.

But when add-ons are factored in courtesy of various performance-related bonuses being achieved, De Ligt could well find himself on £416,000-a-week and £21.7 million per season.

Juventus could end up forking out £176.2 million overall but given his age and potential, the Netherlands international is slated to be a wholly worthwhile investment.

The 2018 Golden Boy award winner becomes Juve's seventh signing of the summer and adds to the wealth of defensive options new boss Maurizio Sarri has at his disposal.

Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini are still going as strong as ever, while there's also Daniele Rugani and fellow new signing Mehri Demiral to compete with former Ajax skipper De Ligt for a starting berth in the centre of the backline.
