Matteo Guendouzi has been made to look like a right mug after his gesture to Watford fans came back to bite him.

The Arsenal midfielder left the field at Vicarage Road with the Gunners 2-1 up and after being booed by some of the Watford supporters, he responded by reminding them of the scoreline using his fingers.

But the Frenchman ended up tempting fate as Arsenal, having been 2-0 up in the first half through a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang brace, pressed the self-destruct button yet again.

David Luiz gave away his second penalty of the season so far when he tripped Roberto Pereyra, who added to Tom Cleverley's early strike to pull the hosts level late on.

The Brazilian's error followed up Sokratis gifting Watford's first with a sloppy pass out from the back.

Guendouzi's actions seemed like decent shithousery in the 66th minute but fast forward to ten minutes from time and the former Lorient man was made to look incredibly silly.

Watford had a number of big chances to take all three points in Quique Sanchez Flores' first game in his second spell, with Tom Cleverley, Gerard Deulofeu and Abdoulaye Doucourรฉ all having key opportunities in front of goal.

But they couldn't quite find that all-important winner in a pulsating end to the game in Hertfordshire. Despite the encouraging finale winless Watford stay bottom on two points, with Arsenal in seventh after blowing a two-goal lead.
