A football match between two local Brazilian clubs descended into complete chaos after a massive brawl broke out.

Atlético Goianiense hosted Vila Nova at the Estádio Antônio Accioly for their clash on Sunday, but that didn't stop this heated rivalry from turning up a notch.

It has been reported that an Atlético substitute was spotted chasing a Vila Nova player, which ended with him being pushed to the floor.

After that, all hell broke loose. Players from both sets of teams ended up getting involved in the brawl, as well as both clubs' staff also being involved in the scuffle.

The scenes from the incident are absolutely crazy to watch, with riot police using pepper spray to try and control the situation.

Check it out below.

Absurd, right?

According to reports from Brazil's local media, the spray also affected fans that were in attendance for the match.

Jorginho scored the winner in the 76th minute to hand Atlético a 1-0 victory in the second leg of their Campeonato Goiano semi-final clash with Vila Nova.

While there has been no confirmation on whether either team will face any consequences for their actions, the Federação Goiana de Futebol said in its match summary that the fight broke out after Vila Nova's Keke made his way off the bench and walked onto the pitch.
