BBC 'Football Expert' Mark Lawrenson - don't worry we've not given him that title, has the tough task of predicting the results and scores in the Premier League on a weekly basis.

The former Liverpool man tests his knowledge against a number of celebrity challengers from all walks of life and this week he locked horns with former Pussycat Doll and current X-Factor Judge Nicole Scherzinger.

The format for the prediction league is that a correct result (choosing a win, loss or draw) gives you 10 points while if you are gifted enough to correctly predict the exact score, you get 40 points.

And everyone will be glad to know that Lawrenson, who regularly gets slated for his commentary and pundit, lost out to Scherzinger - with the overall prediction league scores for the weekend's action standing at 80-70.

Here is both Lawro and Nicole's predictions as well as the actual results on the BBC Sport website.

Clearly, the bulk of Scherzinger's score came from her correctly predicting that the North London derby to finish 1-1, which she said she was going to attend with X-Factor host Dermot O'Leary. The 38-year old collected 40 points on that game alone.

Lawro is still in the lead in the battle between him and the guests, having played 11, won six and lost five - with the overall scores at 910 to 820.

Not a great week of predictions for the 'football expert'...
