Marcus Reus' Horrid Luck With Injuries Continues

He just can't catch a break can he?

We feel so sorry for Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus. The German has just returned from a six-month injury lay-off and looked set to make his first appearance for Thomas Tuchel's side this season in the huge showdown with Bayern Munich tomorrow.

However, Reus' horrid luck with injuries continues, with news emerging that the skipper has now been ruled out of the fixture after picking up another injury. German outlet BILD reported that Reus had picked up a heel injury and the club have commented on the reports.

As quoted by Ruhr Nachrichen, their statement read:

"Marco Reus has a small problem with his heel. We didn't want to take any risks after his lengthy spell out."

Here's hoping that the injury is not too severe, as Reus had some absolute rotten luck with injuries in the past. He was in the frame for Germany's 2014 World Cup and Euro 2016 squads but suffered an ankle injury that meant he missed the World Cup triumph, followed by the groin issue two years later that led to him being sidelined for six months.

A real shame to see such a talented player be plagued by injury troubles.

Can Reus recover from this latest set-back? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
