Marco Asensio Attempted A Filthy No-Look Effort Against Roma

This would have been some goal...

Marco Asensio plays with such swagger that it should come as no surprise that he attempted an outrageous 'no-look' goal last night.

The Spaniard was a second half substitute in Real Madrid's 3-0 win over Roma at the Bernabeu as Los Blancos made an impressive start to the defence of their Champions League crown.

And the 22-year old very nearly capped off his display with the filthiest of goals in the second half. With Real 2-0 up, Isco fed his compatriot just inside the box and Asensio spun away from a couple of Roma defenders thanks to a sharp and spicy turn.

After such an immense bit of play, the RCD Mallorca youth product felt it was only right to try and finish off the move with a 'no-look shot' but Robin Olsen denied him brilliantly with his leg.

It would have been a sublime showboater's goal from Asensio - though his manager Julen Lopetegui was less than impressed on the touchline.

It didn't quite happen for Asensio, but it showed just what a special and expressive player he is. And being honest, it would have been unfair of him to take the gloss of Isco and new No.7 Mariano Diaz, as they both scored sensational goals.
