Mohamed Salah has bagged the PFA Player of the Year award, he's leading the Premier League Golden Boot race and the Liverpool star now turns his attention to the clubs European campaign.

And ahead of facing off against his former side, Kostas Manolas has issued a warning prior to Tuesday's semi-final first-leg. And It's brilliant.

AS Roma secured passage to the Champions League last four after dumping out Barcelona, courtesy of Manolas who headed home late in the second half.

'The Greek God' now gears himself for the threat of 'The Egyptian King'.

The anticipated European showdown is just a day away, and fellow defensive colleague Bruno Peres has revealed Manolas' warning to Salah.

"Now we've got to believe we can do it against Liverpool and remember we're not here by some fluke. We need humility, focus, everything we've shown to get this far," he told Mediaset Premium via Football Italia.

"We watched many Liverpool home games to prepare and it'll be tough, just as it was with Barcelona. We need a good result from the first leg."

Peres joking added: "Kostas Manolas talks to him regularly. We warned Salah not to try anything, or he's getting beaten up!

"In fact, Kostas won't talk to him for a while, so if he needs to give him a kicking, he won't feel bad about it! Afterwards, they can be friends again!

"We know how well he's doing at the moment at Liverpool, that he's a player who can do something different, but Roma deserve to be in the semi-final."

The Brazilian also spoke freely and honestly about his mentality, which includes talks with his coach and parents.

"I have certainly changed my mentality. I realised that if I continued the way I was before, I couldn't be a protagonist or achieve anything.

"The Coach spoke to me, so did my mother, my father and two or three people close to me and they all advised me to change. I listened and that was important, because now my work is coming out on the field."
