Manchester United starlet Hannibal Mejbri had his hair pulled in a shocking moment during the extremely dirty match against Tottenham U23s.

The Premier League 2 Division 1 match between Spurs and Man United has been branded 'one of the dirtiest' games of the season.

And footage from the game has surfaced online with Mejbri subject to an absolute battering.

The 18-year-old was kicked off the park with Spurs' George Marsh even pulling his hair during an on-field scuffle.

Marsh then received his marching orders when he close-lined him.

The promising Frenchman drew plenty of fouls with the Spurs team adopting a very cynical approach, fouling him at nearly every opportunity.

The video of Mejbri being repeatedly fouled has been shared on Twitter, accompanied with the caption: "A selection of the fouls dished out on Mejbri against Spurs. There was likely more however the camera work was as bad as the refs."

His rough treatment in the 3-0 defeat got Man United fans talking online, with fans bemoaning the lack of protection.

One Twitter user wrote: "I've never seen a player get knocked down more often than Hannibal."

A second hit back at claims he needs to bulk up: "Gym won't help with him being hacked down."

A third added: "Get him in the first team to protect him."

He signed for the Old Trafford club in 2019 after rejecting a host of other English sides.

The talented youngster made an instant impact at youth level, progressing to the under-23 squad despite being a teenager.

Mejbri, who recently signed a new long-term deal, has been backed to become a Man United first-team player.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has previously claimed that Mejbri is not far away from making the senior squad.

Speaking in February when the youth ace was injured, Solskjaer said: "Hannibal unfortunately injured his shoulder in the reserves so he'll be out for a few weeks.

"He was just on his way into the squad and training with us but that's football. He'll come back stronger, I am sure, and he knows he's not far away."
