Manchester United say the 'new badge' rumour doing the rounds on social media is fake.
There has been talk on social media over the last few days about United taking a leaf from Juventus' book and launching a new badge.
The Italian club unveiled their new badge last week, getting rid of their old crest to replace it with a more modern design.
But United won't be following suit - after the club's press office confirmed that there are no plans to change the current badge:

The United badge has existed in different variations since the club's foundation in 1878 and it appears unlikely that they would be willing to move away from their iconic design.

United are a global band and that symbol helps make them one of the most recognisable sports teams in the world so a drastic change to design - like Juventus' - must be seen as a big risk.
That's not to say there won't be changes in the future though, with the 'football club' referred to in the tweet above, believed to be making a comeback at some point.
