It would be fair to say that he only real significant moment in what was a fairly drab Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday night was Marouane Fellaini's sending off.

Just 19 seconds after committing a cynical foul on Sergio Aguero and earning a yellow card late in 0-0 draw, the Belgian committed another offence and as he and the City striker squared up, Fellaini raised his head and was promptly shown a straight red card.

Aguero played it well, but it was incredibly stupid from Fellaini, who deservedly warranted a sending off.

Here's Mourinho giving his assessment on Fellaini's red card and the part Aguero played in it:

Fellaini definitely divides opinion and his United career has been a mixed bag.

A £27 million signing from Everton when David Moyes began his dull reign at Old Trafford, the former Standard Liege man actually became a fairly important player under Louis van Gaal he became an important player, especially during the best period of the Dutchman's time in charge at United, the back end of the first season.

Under Jose Mourinho, he's been hit and miss.

Back in December, the Belgian central midfielder cost his side a win against former club Everton when he gave away a silly late penalty. He was even booed by his own supporters in the next game featured in.

Since then he's rekindled his relationship with the fans and the manager to an extent until he lost the plot last night.

And already there's a transfer rumour involving the 29-year old, just a day removed from the moment of madness.

According to Turkish outlet Milliyet, Trabzonspor are interested in signing Fellaini.

The consensus is that the Super Lig club, who are currently fifth in the league, want a big signing for their 50th anniversary as a club and Fellaini is one of their preferred options on the list of targets drawn up by boss Ersan Yunal.
