Manchester United Looking To Offload Five Players To Fund Jadon Sancho Deal

Manchester United Looking To Offload Five Players To Fund Jadon Sancho Deal

Manchester United will make five players available for transfer in order to fund a deal for Jadon Sancho this summer.

The Borussia Dortmund winger has been identified as a top target for United but with Sancho likely to cost more than £100 million and also command around £170,000-a-week wages, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been told to get rid of some dead wood by executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.

And according to The Mirror, Alexis Sanchez, Jesse Lingard, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Andreas Pereira are the leading names to be moved on.

Sanchez has been a monumental disappointment since he arrived in a swap deal that saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan head to Arsenal in January 2018.

The Chilean was loaned out to Inter Milan in the summer and with his ridiculous £400,000-a-week wages putting off sides from signing him permanently, he might have to leave on a temporarily basis once again when the window rolls around again.

Lingard's stock has dropped massively in recent times and the academy product looks nailed on to depart in the summer. There's been talk of interest from Roma and Atletico Madrid, with United hoping for £20 million for his services.

Similarly, Andreas Pereira's future looks bleak following the arrival of Bruno Fernandes, while centre-backs Chris Smalling and Phil Jones expected be sold for a combined cost of £25 million after long stints at Old Trafford.

Former Manchester City youngster Sancho finished a stellar Bundesliga campaign with 17 goals and 16 assists but it's already been reported that the England international's "head is already at Man United".
