Fans believe Mason Mount should be hit with a ban after footage emerged of him kicking out at Fred in the 0-0 draw between Chelsea and Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

Fred was booked for clattering into the England international in the early stages of the second half and though Mount was in grimace on the turf, he did retaliate.

The 22-year-old kicked out at the Brazilian, who did not make a meal out of it when he would have been well within his rights to.

United fans were not only aggrieved with the decision to not award a first-half penalty despite a clear handball from Callum Hudson-Odoi, but they feel as though Mount should have seen red.

With no action taken from the referee or VAR, Mount being punished would depend on the report from referee Stuart Attwell.

After the game, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer called out Chelsea's official website for a piece on his skipper Harry Maguire - branding it "cheeky" and accusing them of "influencing the referees" in his post-match interview with Sky Sports.

The article in question stated: "The Man United skipper's actions will also be under scrutiny again on Sunday after his penalty area tangle with Jamal [sic] Lascelles last weekend.

"In recent Chelsea meetings the Red Devils' centre-back has survived VAR reviews of a potential penalty foul on Cesar Azpilicueta and violent challenge on Michy Batshuayi that may well have affected the outcome."
