Permanent staff members at Manchester United have been handed £1,000 worth of shares.
Both part-time and full-time employees qualified for the shares, with the exception of Jose Mourinho, United players and coaching staff and club directors/board members.
According to the BBC, the decision to give shares to staff will cost the club over £700,000 - with staff receiving the shares on Friday at a rate of £13.14.

However, the shares will not come into play just yet and won't actually be paid until just under two years - in June 2018. The club will also cover the income tax liability.
It seems like it's not a bad time to be an employee at Manchester United, even if the team aren't performing particularly well on the pitch.
