We're still some way away from the summer transfer opening but there's already talk that Manchester United will announce their first signing imminently.

United have been heavily linked with James Rodriguez, who has become increasingly frustrated at Real Madrid under Zinedine Zidane.

And reports in Colombia, namely Colombian radio station RCN, may well have got United fans excited when they said Rodriguez had an agreement to move to Old Trafford.

Radio Caracol have followed it up by reporting that the deal could be announced as soon as Sunday evening, when United and Real both finish their domestic campaigns with game against Crystal Palace and Malaga respectively.

It's common knowledge that James has been unhappy with his lack of game-time for Los Blancos this term and many believe the fact he applauded all four corners when he was substituted during Sunday's win over Sevilla at the Bernabeu is a sign that he's on the move.

Both United and Real are in action beyond their league campaigns as Jose Mourinho's side are vying to win the Europa League trophy, and secure Champions League football next season, on 24 May, while Real are hoping to become the first side to win the Champions League back-to-back should they overcome Juventus on 3 June.

While the talk from Colombia is that an announcement on James to United could be imminent, AS reports that Real do not wish confirm the former Monaco and Porto's man departure until the Champions League final in Cardiff is over and done with.

Meanwhile Ladbrokes and Sky Bet have both suspended betting on the 25-year old joining United.
