We're in the season of kit leaks and there's another one on the way, involving Manchester City.
Just a couple of days back, a design for the club's home shirt emerged online. Footy Headlines uncovered the shirt, which isn't far from being an almost identikit replica of this season's current home top.
This season's home kit has followed the Nike template that has been used for a number of clubs and countries, with navy sleeves to go with the sky blue in City's case.

It's also the case for the away kit, which is mainly black but is a burgundy colour on the sleeves.
And though the design for next season's shirt does feature a different shade of sky blue on the sleeves, it looks much cleaner.
There is a talk of the socks having a maroon trim, much like the kit City sported in circa 1969/1970. And it appears as though the club are keeping with the maroon/claret theme when it comes to the away shirt.

Footy Headlines have been at it again and have accessed images of the 2017/18 shirt design, which is mainly claret but contains hints of sky blue and the sponsor and Nike logo in white.
We think it looks very slick but you can decide for yourself by checking out the following pictures:

The shorts and socks of the kit, which will be released in the summer ahead of the new season, are expected to be claret.
Claret or colours along the same lines have been used in plenty of City kits in the past.
In 2012/13, City wore a claret Umbro shirt in what was said to be paying tribute to the 1956 FA Cup winning side.

However the club's 2002/03 third shirt, made be Le Coq Sportif is clearly the closer design to that historic 1956 shirt.

The club's 1988/90 1990/92 and 1996/97 away shirts also feature maroon or claret in different designs and styles, so City will definitely be keeping in touch with their history with the 2017/18 kit.
