Manchester City trolled themselves on the anniversary of the humiliating 8-1 defeat at the hands of Middlesbrough.
12 years ago today, City were battered on the final day of the 2007/08 campaign in what was Sven Goran-Eriksson's final game in charge of the club.
Richard Dunne was sent off 15 minutes into the game at the Riverside, allowing Stewart Downing to open the scoring from the spot.
Downing bagged a brace, while Brazilian Afonso Alves notched a hat-trick for Gareth Southgate's side. Adam Johnson, Fabio Rochemback and Jeremy Aliadiere were also on the scoresheet in a resounding win for Boro.
As for City, midfielder Elano scored a very good consolation goal to make it 7-1 in the 87th minute and having come a long way in 12 years, the Blues could afford to laugh about it on social media today.

Superb stuff indeed.
Not a single City player who played in that game remains at the club today, with unused substitute Joe Hart becoming No.1 goalkeeper and winning two Premier League titles before being unfancied by Pep Guardiola upon his arrival in 2016.

11 May is a mixed day in City's history. In 2013 they were upset by Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup final at Wembley, leading to the dismissal of Roberto Mancini, while a year later and they were lifting the Premier League title under Manuel Pellegrini.
