Manchester City have had a £41 million bid for Nathan Ake accepted by Bournemouth as they look to get their summer business wrapped up quickly.

Widespread reports claim the Blues are closing in on the Dutch defender, who now looks poised to leave the Cherries following their relegation to the Championship.

Having identified Ake as a centre-back target along with Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly, the 25-year old could be set to put pen to paper in the next few days, as per the Daily Mail.

It's said £40 million will be paid upfront, with a further £1 million following as part of add-ons in the deal.

News of the impending arrival of Ake comes after City reportedly wrapped up deal for Valencia's 20-year old winger Ferran Torres, who is expected to cost £21 million.

City recently offloaded wantaway winger Leroy Sane to Bayern Munich and look like they will get two new additions for a tad more than the £55 million they recouped from the German's sale.

Ake joined the Chelsea academy at the age of 15 before signing for Bournemouth in what was a £20 million club record deal at the time.

It has been noted that Chelsea still have a buy-back clause that they can activate regarding Ake - meaning they have first refusal on any accepted bid for their former youngster.

The Netherlands international has gone on to make 146 Premier League appearances, scoring 12 goals and keeping 30 clean sheets.
