A number of seriously ill children got the day of a lifetime when they were invited to Manchester City's squad photoshoot.

Six young City supporters suffering from a variety of illnesses were invited onto the mandatory squad photo and got to meet their idols.

The kids, aged between nine and 14 had the opportunity to meet Pep Guardiola and his star-studded side, as well as the club's title-winning Women's team.

All of the attendees are patients at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital and were giving memories that will stay with them forever and were also given their own memento in the form of a personalised home kit.

City, like most clubs, are prolific in their charity work and have their own 'City in the Community' initiative which has a partnership with the local hospital.

Former City player and now club ambassador commented on the experience for the youngsters.

Speaking to The Manchester Evening News, he said:

"These brave youngsters are an inspiration to players and staff alike and we hope that the afternoon they spend with us will provide impactful memories, that will last a lifetime."

A fantastic gesture from City to make young fans' dreams come true.
