Manchester City chief executive Ferran Soriano has revealed that Juventus and Italy defender Leonardo Bonucci wants to play for Pep Guardiola.
Guardiola is a huge admirer of the fiery Italian and he was heavily linked with City in the summer.
And according to Soriano, former Barcelona vice-president, Bonucci was so keen on linking up with Guardiola that he called the club.
As quoted by The Mirror, speaking to radio station RAC1, he said:

"At the moment there are a lot of players that want to play under Pep. The Italian central defender [Leonardo] Bonucci wants to play for him and he called us."
However, Soriano went out to say that he enquired to Juventus about making the move happen but they were not prepared to sell.
"I called the Juventus sporting director and he told me they didn't want to sell. There ended the story!"
City signed Everton's John Stones as an alternative and the England man has produced a series of strong displays at the Etihad Stadium.
