Ainsley Maitland-Niles Laughed At Adrian After Scoring Ice-Cold Penalty During Shootout Victory

Ainsley Maitland-Niles scored an ice-cold penalty during Arsenal's shootout victory over Liverpool on Thursday.

Maitland-Niles easily converted his spot-kick as Arsenal beat Liverpool on penalties to secure a place in the next round of the Carabao Cup.

The England international calmly stepped up and struck a superb penalty as he sent Adrian the wrong way.

He then laughed at the Liverpool keeper as he returned to the half-way line in a ruthless moment.

Needless to say, Maitland-Niles' penalty sent social media into overdrive.

One Twitter user wrote: "We need to somehow extract confidence directly from Maitland-Niles veins and inject it into Nicholas Pepe."

A second tweeted: "Has Maitland-Niles ever experienced 'nerves' in his life? I'm seriously starting to doubt it."

A third added: "That smile, that damn smile. Maitland-Niles is something else from 12 yards."

Arsenal face defending champions Manchester City in the quarter-finals.
