It appears van Gaal is in contact with Football Federation Australia (FFA) about the Socceroos job.
Herald Sun claim Australia are also reportedly keeping tabs on Marcelo Bielsa, Jurgen Klinsmann, Bert van Marwijk and Luiz Felipe Scolari.

But the ex-Barcelona and Bayern Munich gaffer is the favourite to lead the Aussies charge in Russia according to bookies.
After securing a spot in Russia, manager Ange Postecoglou resigned from his post. A barrage of abuse from Australian commentators is the believed reason for wanting out.
