Manchester United could become a 'scary' team in English football if they manage to sign Harry Kane or Erling Haaland this summer, according to Louis Saha.

The Red Devils are expected to reinforce their striking options in the transfer window as Edinson Cavani's long-term future at Old Trafford remains unclear.

Kane, who is under contract with Tottenham until 2024, has been heavily linked with United amid uncertainty surrounding his future at Spurs.

Haaland, 20, has become one of Europe's top prospects and already been linked with United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Borussia Dortmund are keen to keep hold of the highly rated Norwegian striker, but Haaland's £68m release clause will become active in 2022.

Saha now believes that his former side would see their position vastly improved with the addition of Kane or Haaland.

The 42-year-old Frenchman hailed Haaland as a "top striker," while the former United man called Kane a "super striker" and a "super team player as well."

Saha told GentingBet: "I think when you look at Harry Kane and Haaland, it's two different profiles but they score goals.

"Haaland has a great future, he is a top striker and you can see he already has that fire in him so he will really help any side in this world because of that.

"He's got the size, he's got the speed, he's got all the qualities you need to be a top striker.

"Harry is more about consistency, you know what he's going to give you. He's like a super striker, but a super team player as well. A captain in so many ways.

"So yes, these guys can give a lot to Manchester United but again it depends on the strategy of the management with the transfers. If they want to win a championship, these are the kind of players you have to get.

"The one player with 30 games and 30 goals it's scary. When you have one of these kind of players with the youth we have in the side, my God, it's scary."

Saha also spoke out about fellow countryman Paul Pogba as he made a compelling case for why he won't become a Wayne Rooney or Roy Keane figure at United.
