Liverpool might be in the midst of the Premier League title race and making it through to the Champions League semi-finals, but that hasn't stopped the Reds from preparing ahead for the pre-season.

In fact, the title-challenging side have an eye on the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as a potential venue to host a friendly match.

That's right, the Times reports that Liverpool are in talks with Spurs over holding a friendly against Napoli at the new stadium.

The Premier League side are looking at other stadiums in the UK, including those in Scotland. However, they are keen to play the match on 28th July at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It is also reported that Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp would want the pre-season matches to be played at Anfield, but there could be a problem with the schedule at the stadium.

You see, Take That, Bon Jovi and Pink all have dates pencilled in for performances at the stadium.

It is unlikely that the pitch will be relaid properly until July, which rules out any chance of a match being played there early on in the summer.

Liverpool have booked their spot in the Champions League semi-finals after beating Porto in the quarter-finals.

While the Reds face a tough test against Barcelona in the next round of the competition, the Liverpool boss is relishing the challenge of facing the reigning La Liga champions.

"Now we are in the semi-final against Barcelona. I'm really happy about the fact we play them," Klopp said (via the Guardian).

"We will find things we think we could use but on the other side I don't care. We play on Sunday against Cardiff.

"That's in my mind, not how we play against Barcelona. We have enough time for that. I'm looking forward to it but not tonight.

"It is really good news that there is a proper football game between Liverpool and Barcelona.

"To be in the semi-final for a second time in a row is a big statement. I'm really proud of the boys, it is brilliant what they did. Doing it in different ways makes it even more special."
