Mohamed Salah is the 'greediest player ever', says Graeme Souness who says Kenny Dalglish wouldn't have tolerated the way he plays for Liverpool.

Souness made a bold claim about Salah after he inspired his side to victory over West Ham on Sunday.

He bagged a stunning brace, including a goal of the season contender, in the Reds' 3-1 win at the London Stadium.

'The Egyptian King' became the first Liverpool player to score 20+ goals in all competitions for four consecutive seasons since Ian Rush's heroics during the 80s.

But despite his incredible showing, Souness bizarrely attacked Salah - branding him the greediest player in football.

"Have you ever seen anyone greedier than him? Ever?" The Scot asked Jamie Redknapp on Sky Sports.

When asked if he himself had played with anything he considered that greedy, the Liverpool legend replied: "No, not as bad as that."

He added: "I sit and watch Liverpool play and think, if my mate Kenny [Dalglish] had been playing with him they'd have been fighting each other in the dressing room after every game, he just wouldn't tolerate it.

"But his numbers, he'll say at the end of his career, 'look at my numbers.'"

Souness then oddly changed gears, complimenting Salah on his second goal: "But his touch there, magnificent touch, magnificent finish."

Liverpool's win means they move above Leicester City to third place in the table, four points adrift of league leaders Manchester City.

As for Salah, he's the league's top scorer with 15 goals to his name as he eyes a third Premier League Golden Boot award.

He has 21 goals in all competitions and will be looking to add to his brilliant tally when the English champions resume their campaign on Wednesday against Brighton.
