Things didn't get any easier for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after the conclusion of - arguably - his worst ever game in management.

With his Manchester United side on the wrong end of a 5-0 thrashing at the hands of arch-rivals, Liverpool, the travelling Kop didn't miss it's opportunity to rub a little more salt into the manager's already gaping wounds.

The damage had very much been done in the first half, with goals from Naby Keita, Jota, and Mohamed Salah all but wrapping the three points up for Liverpool before the break.

With the win virtually assured, Liverpool's thousands of fans inside Old Trafford had plenty of time to sift through their hymnbook of United songs. And so, at the conclusion of the match, they decided to take aim at Solskjaer.

As the 48-year-old left the pitch, the travelling supporters started chanting "Ole's at the wheel".

The reaction from United fans to the chant on social media varied massively. Some found it understandably painful, while others thanked Liverpool for their help in trying to get rid of Solskjaer as manager.

Next weekend, United travel to face Tottenham Hotspur, before hosting high-flying Manchester City at Old Trafford.

Liverpool, meanwhile, will head up to Preston North End during the week for a Carabao Cup clash, before welcoming Graham Potter's Brighton side to Anfield.

A big question heading into next weekend's fixtures is whether Solskjaer will still be in a job by the time of the Spurs visit. Who knows right now, but you certainly wouldn't bet on it.
