Lionel Messi Watches Himself While On The Treadmill At The Gym

Lionel Messi was watching himself in action while on the treadmill at Barcelona's training facility.

A picture of the six-time Ballon d'Or winner putting himself through his paces in the gym as he graced the television screens has been doing the rounds on social media.

It's said that the Argentine was watching his best goals of the year on the tele - not that he needed much of a reminder about how good he is at football.

Compilation Of Lionel Messi Scoring From Outside The Box Is Footballing Perfection

In 2019, Messi scored a staggering 50 goals for Barcelona and Argentina - reaching the half century with an archetypal gorgeous goal in the 4-1 win over Alaves, curling home a beautiful strike from 25 yards out despite being closed down by five defenders.

The top scorer and assister of the 2010s, Messi has scored at least 50 goals in nine out of the last ten seasons. He only failed to achieve the tally in 2013 and even then he notched 45 for club and country.

Just look at 2012 though. 91 goals and 29 assists, which broke the previous record set by German legend Gerd Muller, is just offensive to anyone else.

He'd have to have quite the monstrous gym session to have time to watch all of his breathtaking highlights from seven years ago to be honest.

We're looking forward to seeing what madness Messi produces in 2020, with a whole host of new records in the 32-year old's sights.
